My Joomla site, https://rockridgencpc.com, is running Joomla 4.4.8; I haven't got to the Joomla 5 update yet.
I have an article on my website which lists the officers in our organization. I updated this in October 2024 when our Vice Chair resigned. We've just found a new volunteer for the position, and I can't update the article, because I get these errors:
Invalid field: Created By
Unable to find a user with the ID: 62
True, we recently deleted a large number of inactive userids, one of whom was probably at one time a superuser. But I can't see anything in the backend that associates a userid with an article. I've looked at the old entries that deal with this error 10 or more years ago, particularly the Itoctopus article at

But the suggestions it makes don't seem to match anything in my back end, and I hesitate to change core files without more information than I have. I am the resident superuser (in fact, I did the upgrade to Joomla 4) and my userid is 63. Does anyone have a solution for this ancient mess?
Update, something I forgot to enter the first time: I successfully edited this article, with no errors, in October 2024. Has something happened in the last couple of months that could affect this?
