Run the FPA (See the red box, top of screen, third link under Forum Rules). That will give us everything we need to know about your hosting and joomla installation.

In the meantime, it could be something simple like Media Manager is not allowing the specific file type or the MIME type hasn't been specified. Joomla is usually more forthcoming with its error messages and will tell you if it's a file-type or MIME type that is preventing the upload, or if the upload file size limit it exceeded etc.

Normally for logo image for the front-end you would done this in the Template's configuration. That's how you would do so in Cassiopeia. What template are you using? It should have a similar configuration interface, and the option to add or change the site logo.
