Hi. I can help. I’m a long-time MAMP Pro on MacOS user.
1st question:
Are you using MAMP or MAMP Pro? The location where the file need to go is different depending upon version. You can simply copy your existing files to the right place. Also, MAMP Pro gives you the option of MySQL 5.7 (like your old version) or MySQL 8.0.35
2nd question:
Copying the database probably won’t work. Remake a new database of the same name in phpMyAdmin then, ideally, import your old database as a .sql or .sql.zip file.
3rd question:
Have you checked the the website information in configuration.php is correct? Filepaths, etc.
